In answer to the age old questions - What's the difference between a Manager and a Leader?
In answer to the age old questions - What's the difference between a Manager and a Leader?
Conventional wisdom tells us Managers deal with "things" while Leaders deal with "people". Here's something to think about.
I just met a guy who owns a large and successful Fire and Water Damage Restoration business. In our conversation he said that 80% of his days are spent working with PEOPLE issues. I said him, "Oh, so you're a leader." He replied, "No. I'm a MANAGER. I MANAGE to find the right people. I manage to hire them, train them, place them in the right jobs for them, pay them what they deserve, keep them happy, and keep them productive. I Manage People."
He also said, "I manage to keep it simple." I guess he does.
